About Us

HEGDER (Hatay Eğitim ve Gençlik Derneği) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 2017 in Antakya, Hatay. It aims to offer young people opportunities to grow professionally and personally, engaging them in educational, social, cultural, artistic and sports activities and carrying out joint studies and projects with public institutions, organizations, and NGOs.

Our mission is to enable the young people of Hatay to seize opportunities for their social, professional, and cultural development by providing training and different kind of local activities and by promoting the Erasmus+ and ESC programme activities.

Adhering to the values and the goals of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027HEGDER is experienced in participating, writing, and implementing EU mobility projects and works to promote them to the local young people. On our website and social networks, we publish up-date news and information about the different opportunities offered by Erasmus+ and ESC programmes and provide support for applying and participating in them.

NGO Team

HEGDER was founded by a group of educators in Hatay in 2017.

The founder and president of the NGO, Ahmet Saldıran received undergraduate education in English Language Teaching at the Faculty of Education and has taught English for about 16 years.

He has good expertise in the field of projects. He has been preparing, implementing, and working on local, national and EU projects for the last 15 years. He worked as a projects coordinator for EU and Foreign Affairs Office of the Governorate of Hatay and Hatay Provincial Directorate of National Education for 8 years. He is currently teaching English, conducting civil society activities, and gives training on how to prepare and carry out projects.

The vice president, Yeliz Sevim is an English teacher. She deals with Erasmus+ projects professionally since 2013. She is currently the projects coordinator of Projects Office of Belen District Governorate.
